Prepare For MASALA PASTE / GRAVY:
Take 1 inch cinnamon stick, dalchini
Get 3 cloves
Make ready 2 cardamom, elachi
Make ready 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
Take 3/4 tsp ginger-garlic paste
Take 1 large tomato, finely chopped
Make ready 10 cashews
Get For DUM ALOO RECIPE:
Take 1 tsp oil
Make ready 3/4 tsp jeera / cumin seeds
Make ready 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder, adjust to your spice level
In a kadhai, add a tsp of oil along with cumin seeds.
Once they splutter, add prepared masala paste and fry for 5-6 minutes. - now add spices like chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt to taste. - continue to fry till oil separates.
Turn the flame to low and add curd. give a good mix.add 1 cup of water or as required to adjust the consistency. - finally, add fried aloos and cook for 20 mins.
Lastly, add some crushed kasuri methi. - Garnish with coriander leaves and serve dum aloo hot with rice, chapati or naan.
