- Firstly peel and grate the carrots. Wash the rice, strain the water and spread in a flat plate.
- In a kadhai add 2 tbsp of ghee and fry the dry fruits. Then keep it aside.
- Now in the same pan add 2 tbsp of ghee and the grated carrot and fry till the raw smell gone. Then add the rice and fry for 1 more minute.
- When the rice becomes little glossy add the milk and let it be cooked on medium flame till the rice becomes soft. Stir occasionally so that it doesn't stick at the bottom.
- Now add the sugar and the dry fruits. Cook for 5 more minutes. When it becomes little thick and creamy switch off the flame.
- The gajrela is ready to serve.
