    The ingredients needed to make Tamarind Chutney:

    1. Prepare 1/2 Cup Tamarind (imli)
    2. Get 3/4 Cup Finely chopped jaggery (Gud)
    3. Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
    4. Make ready 1 tsp Cumin powder
    5. Take 1 1/2 cup water
    6. Get 1/4 tsp Black salt
    7. Take to taste Salt

    Instructions to make Tamarind Chutney:

    1. Soak the tamarind into hot water for 20 min.
    2. Mash it using hands and strain it through a soup stainer.
    3. Discard the tamarind pulp and keep the water.
    4. Add tamarind water in a pan.Add jaggery and add all the remaining ingredients.
    5. Cook the mixture on medium flame for 10-15 mins. Keep stirring at regular intervals.
    6. Remove the pan from heat and keep on the counter until it is cooled properly.
    7. Transfer it into a container and keep it in refrigerator for more than a month.
